The industrial material ABS should shrink about 7%. That is the nature of acrylonitrile butadiene styrene. Abs-pla mix typically shrink 2-3% depend on ratio. I use LG Hi121h ABS pellet. Another way to reduce the shrink is using carbon fiber filled ABS which the fiber encounter the shrinking force. So pure ABS carbon filled only shrink 2-3%.

ABS is emitting lot of nasty fumes during printing, so you want your printer enclosed and fumes vented out of the window, or treated with air recirculation through activated carbon pellets.
Cheryl J Marshall –
I really like the texture of abs. Pla tends to be too harsh and contrasty, petg is very glossy and waterbottle-like (no surprise) but abs has a nice soft look an even matte texture and the layers just look more professional.

I recently got into ABS and I love it. One benefit with ABS is that it doesn’t slowly deform under stress. So if you make a snap-fit part that tightly snaps onto a pipe or a battery or something like that, then with PLA it will loosen up after a day. With PETG it will loosen up after a few weeks. With ABS it won’t loosen at all.
Raymond J Beers –
ABS Very strong and quite hard, between PLA and PETG in hardness, but does not creep, does not melt. Trickier to print with and may not look the best. Easy to sand and drill. Best if you want something tough, strong and durable.
Constance J Brody –
I’d always heard that ABS was really tough to print, but at least so far it’s no harder than PLA. For larger objects I will usually try to warm up the chamber by heating the bed up to 100C for 10 or so minutes, but even when I forget to do that I’ve had no issues.

I’ve worked with a lot of ABS over the years, and this one stands out for its reliability. It’s not flashy, but it doesn’t need to be. Consistency in quality is what matters, and this delivers.
Anita B Bailey –
Compared to polycarbonate, this ABS is much easier to mold and doesn’t require extreme heat.
